Chairman – Mutiu Sunmonu, CON

Mr. Mutiu Sunmonu is the current Chairman of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and Coronation Insurance Plc and also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc. He was previously the Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) & Country Chairman of Shell Companies in Nigeria with an oil & gas career spanning over 36 years in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

He was also Vice President Production for Sub-Saharan Africa, a role that gave him oversight over the Company’s business in countries within the region. He was responsible for mobilising the private sector to set up the National Business Council for Sustainable Development (NBCSD) and currently serves on the board of various organizations across multiple sectors of the economy including Real Estate, Construction, Oil & Gas and Education.
Mr. Sunmonu is the recipient of many awards including: Sustainability Champion (2014 SERA Awards) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON). He is a Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (FNSE). He holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BSc in Mathematics & Computer Science from the University of Benin.

Director – Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CON

Mr Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede is the Founder and Chairman of Coronation Capital – a private equity and propriety investment firm targeting the financial services, technology solutions, consumer goods & services, oil & gas and real estate sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa, operating out of Mauritius. He is also the Founder of the Africa Initiative for Governance (“AIG”), whose mission is to transform the performance of Africa’s public sector through, through programs which impact on leadership, governance and public policy. He is a past President of the National Council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Financial Markets Dealers Association and the Co-Chairman of the UK-Nigeria Capital Market Task Force and a Founding Chairman of the FMDQ OTC Exchange.

Until his retirement in 2013, he was the Group Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank Plc. His distinguished banking career spanned 25 years of which 10 were spent with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, where he resigned as Executive Director in 2002 to lead the Access Bank transformation team, eventually transforming it into one of the largest Banks in Nigeria. Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede is the recipient of several awards and national honours including African Banker of the Year (African Banker), West African Entrepreneur of the Year (Ernst & Young) and Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON). He holds a Trium Global EMBA from the London School of Economics, NYU Stern Business School and HEC Paris, a law degree from the University of Benin and the Nigerian Law School.

Director – Ms. Edith Unuigbe

Ms. Edith Unuigbe was General Counsel and Company Secretary of the Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), where she had an illustrious 20-year career. Before assuming the role of General Counsel in 2006, she was the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser for 7 years and the Head of its Legal and Commercial unit before that. Ms. Unuigbe drafted and negotiated the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts for all NLNG expansion projects and Gas Sales Agreements (GSAs) with the joint venture partners of NNPC. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and a Master of Laws degree from the Harvard Law School. She attended INSEAD Business School’s International Executive Programme in 2009, Harvard University’s Women’s Leadership Forum in 2011 and the Wharton Business School Advanced Management Programme in 2012.

Director – Ms. Chizoba Ufoeze

Ms. Chizoba Ufoeze is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Tengen Family Office and sits on the board of Coronation Insurance Plc. She has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, covering equity and fixed income products, financial advisory and portfolio management services. She began her career as a Research Assistant with African Development Consulting Group and subsequently was an Investment Officer with the African Development Bank. She also worked with BGL Limited as an Investment Analyst and then as the Head of Investments of the Wealth Management Group. Ms. Ufoeze is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka and has an MSc in Investment Management from the City University Business School London, and an MBA from the Middlesex University Business School, London.

Strategic Advisor to the Board – Mr. Constantine ‘Labi Ogunbiyi

‘Labi Ogunbiyi founded First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited (FHN), where he served as Chief Executive Officer between 2009 and 2014.  In the years before joining FHN, Labi Ogunbiyi functioned as Deputy Head of leading American law firm Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP’s Africa Practice. He worked with the International Finance and Banking Department of Magic Circle law firm Herbert Smith Freehills for four years; was an advisor to the Banking Association PPP Unit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and has offered strategic advisory services to The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Business Group.

He currently serves as a director to Newrest ASL plc and Interswitch Limited and is a Special Advisor to Babban Gona (an agricultural franchise, developed by impact investing firm, Doreo Partners), as well as a number of upstream E&P companies, oil services companies and investment funds operating in Africa.  ‘Labi holds legal qualifications from King’s College, London , the University of Passau, Germany, and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.

Founder And Chief Executive Officer – Ahonsi Unuigbe

Ahonsi has over 18 years extensive experience in oil and gas project finance and sectors spanning the energy & petrochemicals, power, telecoms & manufacturing sectors. He worked for 11 years in investment banking and project finance starting at Citigroup in London, where he rose to the position of Manager, Project and Corporate Finance. He went on to provide oversight for the execution of various project / structured finance and advisory mandates at Standard Bank where he served as Director & Head of the Project & Structured Finance Group. He also had a stint in the public sector as Special Adviser to the Minister of Finance and later as Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Budget, Planning and Development in Edo State, where he played a pivotal role in securing Budget Support for Edo State from the World Bank.

Prior to Petralon, Ahonsi was a founding Executive of First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, where he served as Chief Financial Officer & Executive Director, a role in which he led the company’s financing of its acquisition of OML 26 from the Shell JV for $147.5 million. He has successfully raised over $1 billion for the Oil and Gas industry and led FHN’s raising of over $450 million in debt, equity and project finance within 3 years (2011 – 2013). He is a recipient of the 2009 Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellowship Award for Emerging Young African Leaders and currently a Director of the Nigerian Exchange Limited, which was incorporated to carry on the principal activities of the Nigerian Stock Exchange following its demutualisation.

Chief Financial Officer – Adeola Akinrinmade

Adeola worked at First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, from its inception, as a Finance Manager and was responsible for all financial & project accounting as well as contracts & procurement functions during her time there.

She supported the executive team in researching factors that impact business performance including cost and income drivers and in recording and reporting financial data.

Prior to joining First Hydrocarbon Nigeria, Adeola was the pioneer management and business analysis and reporting consultant and later Project Accountant with Afren Energy Services Limited.

She had also previously served as the Senior Finance Manager for Plessey Dimension Data. Adeola is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of financial management and accounting experience. Adeola holds a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Accountancy from the Obafemi Awolowo University of Ile-Ife.

Head, Corporate Development – Uduakobong Equere

Uduak is an Oil & Gas and Finance professional with extensive experience in oil and gas asset acquisitions and divestments. Prior to Petralon, he worked on the Business Development Team of Afren plc, where he led deal reviews and petroleum economic assessments for numerous divestments of the International Oil Companies (IOC’s). He was part of the deal team that successfully completed the acquisition of OML 26 from the Shell Group in 2011. He was also involved in the company’s portfolio rationalization efforts which resulted in its exit of none core assets and provided support for business development initiatives in First Hydrocarbon Nigeria.

He was primarily responsible for investor relation engagements with the Management Team at Afren’s Nigeria office. He commenced his career as an Investment Analyst at Vetiva Capital Management, a leading investment banking boutique in Nigeria where he provided equities coverage and supported investment banking transactions in the energy sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from the Imperial College Business School.
