Uduakobong Equere (General Manager, Commercial and Corporate Development)

Mr. Equere is an oil & gas and finance professional with extensive experience in new venture acquisitions and divestments. Prior to Petralon, he worked on the business development team of Afren plc, where he led deal reviews and petroleum economic assessments for numerous divestments of the International Oil Companies (IOC’s). He was part of the deal team that successfully completed the acquisition of OML 26 from the Shell Group in 2011. He was also involved in the company’s portfolio rationalization efforts which resulted in its exit of none core assets and provided support for business development initiatives in First Hydrocarbon Nigeria. He was primarily responsible for investor relation engagements with the Management Team at Afren’s Nigeria office. He commenced his career as an Investment Analyst at Vetiva Capital Management, a leading investment banking boutique in Nigeria where he provided equities coverage and supported investment banking transactions in the energy sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Uyo and an MBA from the Imperial College Business School.
