Constantine Ogunbiyi (Strategic Adviser to Board of Directors)

Mr. Ogunbiyi was a co-founder of First Hydrocarbon Nigeria Limited (FHN) and served as the company’s pioneer Chief Executive from 2010 – March 2014. He was also a co-founder of Afren plc, where he was on the board as Executive Director responsible for Business Development. He helped its remarkable growth from a market capitalization of less than $40 million (AIM listed) in 2005, to a company with a market capitalisation of nearly $3 billion on the main board of the London Stock Exchange.  Prior to joining Afren in 2005, he was previously Deputy Head of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP’s Africa Practice after spending four years at Herbert Smith’s International Finance and Banking Department. He has also served as a strategic adviser to the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Business Group and the Southern African Development Community’s (SADC) Banking Association’s PPP Unit. He holds Legal Qualifications from the Universities of London (King’s College), Passau (Germany) and the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He is currently the Chairman of SOLAD, a clean energy solutions provider.
